About Juliet Madison

I'm a writer of contemporary women's fiction stories embracing life, love, and new beginnings.

Having always been an avid reader from a young age, books have always been a part of my life. I've always loved writing too, and remember how much fun it was to come up with stories in primary school which the teachers typed up and printed out so we could illustrate them.

In 2004, I decided I would like to write a novel, and started keeping a notebook of ideas with snippets of scenes and dialogue. At the time I was hooked on thrillers, and wanted to write a novel with drama, suspense, and a touch of romance, and as I was just starting up my own business and my son was starting school, I decided I would allocate one day a week to writing.

This one day turned into a 'catch-up' day for all the business activities I didn't seem to have time to finish, and pretty soon, the plan of writing a novel was thrown out the window and I forgot about it amidst the chaos of motherhood and business!

Fast forward to 2009, and some pretty huge changes in my life occurred, prompting me to spend more time doing things I loved. I began reading again, but switched from thrillers to women's fiction, needing something with a 'feel-good' theme to take me away from the stress in my life. I soon found myself pondering the idea of writing again, but this time, writing what I was enjoying reading - real life stories about women overcoming challenges and finding their place in life.

So I said to myself: "It's time! I AM going to write a novel and FINISH it!" and immediately started a blog, bought a new notebook, and created files on my computer for my ideas and characters. Pretty soon I had a basic plot developed. BUT, after a few weeks of pondering this plot, another idea came to me that would expand the story into something so much more interesting and exciting, and my novel was born!

This novel; The Life Makeover Club, is now complete, and I am working on my next project. Now that I've started on this journey, there's no stopping me!
